One of the nicer features around town, it is a part of the
Turtle Bay museum complex which also has an 200 acre Arboretum right in town. The Sacramento River separates the two, and they are brought together with this beautiful bridge.

This sits adjacent to Turtle bay and the Sundial Bridge and seems always busy hosting a range of events from the obvious conventions to the fun of Musical concerts, Kool April Nights car show and more.

Kool April Nights:

This annual car show is a great fundraising event for the local communtiy. The Kool April Nights orginazation gives all profits to local charities. Smaller "Show and Shine" events throughout the preceeding week are held and lead up to the Friday Night Cruise and Saturday-Sunday show. Concerts, Exibitors and Car Nuts abound.

This building includes many of the cities functions including council chambers on the far left side, electric department, planning, and many more.

Park Marina Drive / Sacramento River

These photos show an area downtown just down river from the Sundial Bridge and Turtle Bay. This area was created by the removal of gravel for the making of Shasta Dam. It is one of the most deserving areas in the cities redevelopment area due to its potential and plans are in the making.  As the one photo shows, yes it does occasionally snow in Redding

The first is looking at downtown Redding, across Park Marina Drive area with Mt Bally in the background.
In the second you can see the top of the Sundial bridge in the distance..

This Art Deco Theater was built in 1930's and recently restored to a spectacular level. You can visit the theaters web page at Cascade Theater .org  it will have more information regarding who and what will be playing.
